Weather woes: Heavy rainfall till July 15, flash flood warning issued for six districts

Heavy rainfall in the state is likely to continue as the state’s Meteorological Department has issued a yellow warning for several districts till July 15.

A flash flood warning has also been issued for six districts of the state.

According to Hydromet Division of State’s Meteorological Department, there will be low to moderate risk of flash flood in watersheds and neighbourhoods of Shimla, Mandi, Kangra, Kullu, Sirmour and Chamba districts.

The state will also witness a few spells of heavy rain at isolated places of the state along with light to moderate rain till July 16.

Meanwhile, downpour in isolated areas as well as light to moderate rain continued at most places of the state during the past 24 hours.

Dhaulakuan in Sirmaur district received 168.5 mm rain which was the highest, followed by 120.4 mm in Bilaspur, 60 mm in Kasol district Kullu, 46 mm in Manali, 38.4 mm in Paonta Sahib, 34.1 mm in Nahan, 28.2 mm in Kangra, 22.4mm in Mandi, 20 mm in Kasauli, 18.8 mm in Palampur, 15 mm in Solan, 13.5 in Narkanda, 10.3 mm in Shimla and 8.5 mm in Dharamsala.
