From food festivals to religious tours, Haryana Tourism to host slew of activities

The Department of Tourism will organise various activities ranging from food festivals, heritage walks, religious tours to trekking expeditions across Haryana for tourists and enthusiasts to mark World Tourism Day on September 27 and 28.

Kala Ramachandran, Principal Secretary (Heritage and Tourism), said food festivals would be organised across its tourists resorts for food aficionados and explorers of the culinary world.

“Professional cooks of Awadhi cuisine will offer the best of royal dishes, including kebabs, biryanis qormas, gulab sharbat, yakhni shorba, galouti kebabs, nihari gosht, teh biryani, sheermal , gilafi kulcha / barfeeli mehak and shahi paan, in Faridabad on September 27 and 28,” she added.

Kala Ramachandran said a unique food festival ‘Cuisines from the hills’ would be organised in Red Bishop Tourist Resort in Panchkula where the enigmatic cuisines from Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Ladakh and Tibet were being curated for the two days.

“Next stop on this delicious trail is at Karna Lake Resort in Karnal where colours and aromas of Rajasthan and Gujarat will tease your taste buds with a blast of rich flavours and sweets. Another gastronomic celebration with cuisines from Haryana and Punjab will be hosted at Tilyar Tourist Resort in Rohtak,” she added.

She said Haryana Tourism in collaboration with ISKCON will organise a special tour of six religious places, including Brahma Sarovar, Abhimanyu Pur, Surya Kund, Sthaneshwar Temple, Bhishma Kund and Jyotisar in Kurukshetra.

“Two heritage walks are being organised in Pinjore on September 27. Two exciting trekking expeditions have been earmarked in Morni Hills, Panchkula, and Aravalli Hills, Gurugram, respectively. The trekking at Aravalli hills will explore the trail from Saras Tourist Resort, Damdama, to Bada Jhod on September 28,” Kala Ramachandran said.
