Foundation stone of works laid at Ward 16 in Yamunanagar

MLA Ghanshyam Dass Arora and Mayor Suman Bahamani laid the foundation stone of development works to be carried out at Ward 16 of the Yamunanagar Municipal Corporation at a cost of Rs 56.42 lakh.

These development works include construction of a paved lane and RCC drain at Bawa colony at a cost of Rs 26.12 lakh.

Besides, the works of constructing various lanes and laying underground pipelines in Joginder Nagar will also be done at a cost of Rs 30.30 lakh.

The MLA and the Mayor directed the officers to pay special attention to the quality of the development works and to complete these within the stipulated time period.

“Our resolution is to develop all wards sustainably and expand public facilities. For this, the Municipal Corporation is seriously carrying out development works in every ward. Paved streets, drains, community centers and other development works are being done in every ward,” said Bahamani.

She said the MCYJ would construct paved streets and lay pipelines in Joginder Nagar of Ward 16. She said the main street and RCC drain would be constructed in Bawa colony of Ward 16 at a cost of Rs 26.12 lakh.

She further said they were making efforts for the development of every ward in the twin cities.

“A number of paved streets and drains will be constructed. Damaged streets, broken drains and other repair works will be done soon. Tenders have been issued by the MCYJ for these works,” said Bahamani. Arora said drinking water, paved streets, drains, sewer lines and electricity were the basic needs of all citizens.

“We are trying to fulfil all these needs. Our effort is to provide paved streets, drains, electricity and drinking water in every authorised colony. These facilities will be provided as soon as possible in all authorised colonies which do not have these facilities,” said Arora.

MCYJ Engineer Surinder Dahiya, Junior Engineer Arvind Kumar, BJP leaders Shubham Rana, Dinesh Upadhyay, Pooja Monga, Amit Sain, Dinesh Rana, Dr Virender Singh Chauhan, Surinder Sharma and other persons were present on the occasion.
