Brief: One booked for raping minor in Shimla
The police officials said that statement of the girl has been recorded and her medical report has been included as evidence
A person has been booked for allegedly raping and impregnating a 15-year-old girl in Shimla.
According to police, parents of the girl took her to Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC), Shimla, for check-up after the girl complained of stomach ache. During check-up, the doctor revealed that the girl was four months pregnant. This left the parents shocked.
Upon asking, the girl revealed that she was raped by a man four months ago.
Following this, her parents lodged a complaint against the accused and police registered a case under Section 65 (1) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023 and Section 4 of Protection of Children Against Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and initiated the investigation.
The police officials said that the statement of the girl has been recorded and her medical report has been included as evidence while further investigation is underway.
