Gunshot fired at parked vehicle in Ram Darbar

Two unidentified youths fired a gunshot at a stationary car in Phase II, Ram Darbar, around 12:30 am last night. The vehicle belongs to Joseph, who deals in property.

After being alerted by a neighbour, who heard the sound of gunshot, Joseph rushed outside and saw two youths fleeing the scene on a black motorcycle. He reported the matter to the police control room.

Police teams and a forensic unit inspected the scene. A bullet shell was recovered from near the vehicle.

Initial investigation revealed that Joseph had returned home from Sector 32 after dropping off his friends. Around 10–12 minutes after he parked the vehicle, the shooting took place.

The police are scanning CCTV footage of the route Joseph took while returning home and the nearby areas to identify the assailants. The investigators have not ruled out the possibility of a mischief or intimidation, while adding that all angles are being explored.
