To strengthen the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) in Haryana, Health Minister Arti Singh Rao today got her Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) card created along with her staff. She also reviewed the progress of ABDM in the state and urged citizens to take part in the digital transformation of the healthcare sector.

Speaking on the occasion, the minister described the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission as a "transformational initiative aimed at digitising India's healthcare sector by creating a seamless and interoperable digital health ecosystem."

So far, 1.63 crore ABHA cards have been created in the state under this mission, which enables individuals to generate a unique digital health ID and link their health records to it for secure access and sharing.

The minister added that the initiative promotes the digitisation of healthcare processes and facilitates interoperable data sharing between various healthcare stakeholders.

Highlighting the safeguards, she said, “The scheme is built with stringent data security measures. Patient data is shared only with explicit consent. Health data remains with healthcare providers; ABDM facilitates secure exchange of sensitive health data instead of storing it centrally.”

She further said only limited data — such as ABHA IDs, Healthcare Professional Registry (HPR) and Health Facility Registry (HFR) — is stored centrally to ensure interoperability and trust within the system.

Citizens can securely store, access and share their digital health records using their ABHA ID, enabling continuity of care and greater transparency.

The ABDM operations team in Haryana is actively engaged in awareness campaigns and helping people generate their ABHA IDs across districts.
