The CIA-3 unit of the district police nabbed a suspected weapon supplier from Sanoli road and seized two country-made pistols and two live cartridges from him. The police produced the accused in the court on Saturday, which sent him to police custody for three days.

Inspector Vijay, SHO, CIA-3 unit, said the accused had been identified as Sadik, alias Gandhi, of Khanpur Gurjar of Saharanpur district in Uttar Pradesh. He said a team of the CIA-3 received a tip-off about Sadik’s presence in the area while it was patrolling on the Sanoli stand. Following the tip-off, the team reached the spot and nabbed Sadik from the Jhamba turn on Sanoli road. The team seized two loaded country-made pistols from his possession.

The accused disclosed that he had purchased the two pistols from a youth of Rana Majra village for Rs 15,000, and he was taking these pistols to Saharanpur.

Inspector Vijay further said Sadik had a criminal record and several cases registered against him in Saharanpur and another case under the NDPS Act in Yamunanagar.
