Panic gripped the Bhiwani district court on Thursday afternoon after two unidentified men opened fire on a group of three friends inside the court premises. According to eyewitnesses, the assailants fired multiple rounds, injuring one person identified as Luvjeet, a resident of Mokhra village in Rohtak. His two companions managed to escape unhurt. The attackers fled the scene after the shooting.
The injured man was rushed to the Civil Hospital by bystanders, as chaos unfolded and even police personnel present there reportedly scattered during the gunfire. Witnesses claim at least four shots were fired.
Senior police officials, including SP Sumit Kumar, arrived at the scene. The authorities have launched an investigation and formed teams to track down the assailants. The motive behind the attack remains unknown.
The Loharu police launched a large-scale checking operation at six key locations in the town.
