10 vehicles transporting illegal mining material seized

A joint team of the district administration and the police seized 10 vehicles transporting illegal mining material during last week. A total fine of Rs 31.50 lakh was imposed upon vehicle owners.

Sharing this information, Deputy Commissioner Dr Vivek Bharti stated that the state government and the district administration had issued strict directives to all officials to stop illegal mining. Any vehicle found transporting minerals without a valid e-rawaana bill would be seized immediately and action taken as per the law against its owner, he said.

District Mining Engineer Rajesh Kumar said out of Rs 31.50 lakh fine imposed on violators, Rs 8.45 lakh had already been recovered from owners of two vehicles. He claimed that SHOs concerned were arriving on the spot to assist enforcement of the law whenever violations were reported.
