A 100-feet National Flag, installed at a park in Sector 13, was inaugurated on Monday by Karnal MLA Jagmohan Anand and Mayor Renu Bala Gupta.
Both Anand and Gupta said it was a moment of pride, excitement, and patriotic spirit for them. It is the second highest mast flag hoisted in Karnal city.
A similar high-mast-flag has previously been installed at Meera Ghati Chowk under the Karnal Smart City project; and another at Maharaja Agrasen Chowk by the Aggarwal community.
“The towering Tricolour stands not only as a symbol of India’s unity, integrity, and pride, but also as an inspiration towards patriotism, dedication, and the duty of the generations to come towards the nation,” the Mayor said.
Anand appealed to residents to maintain the dignity of the National Flag.
The relaying of interlocking paving blocks of different roads of Sector 13 was also started.
The MLA and the Mayor also inaugurated a project to lay a 450-mm RCC stormwater line from Heritage Lawn to Palm Residency in Ward 5.
The project marks a vital step toward solving drainage issues, and providing better civic facilities to residents.
At Durga Colony Road, the laying of interlocking paver blocks and stormwater pipelines was inaugurated. The project is poised to improve drainage, road safety, and aesthetics in wards 3 and 4.
