Chandigarh, October 16

With 1,227 fresh Covid cases and 11 deaths, the overall tally in the state reached 1.47 lakh today. Eleven deaths pushed the toll to 1,634.

Four deaths were reported from Hisar, two each from Faridabad and Gurugram, and one each from Kurukshetra, Yamunanagar and Jind.

The maximum fresh cases were reported from Gurugram (294), followed by Faridabad (189), Hisar (107), Sonepat (74) and Panchkula and Rohtak (60 each).

In Faridabad, a seven-year-old boy from SGM Nagar was among the casualties. The boy was suffering from hepatitis and other comorbidities, according to the District Nodal officer, Dr Ram Bhagat. The other victim in the district was a 65-year-old woman from Sector- 32 A.
