District police chief Vikrant Bhushan reported that the driver, identified as Pawan Kumar from Sadulpur village in Hisar, has been arrested. A case has been registered against him under the Excise Act at the Sadar police station in Sirsa, and an investigation is underway.
The arrested accused will be presented in a Sirsa court to secure remand. During the remand period, the police will gather information about other individuals involved in liquor smuggling and take further legal action. A police team from the CIA-Sirsa was patrolling when it noticed a pickup truck at Bhambhoor village.
During the search of the vehicle, 1,212 bottles of English liquor were seized.
