The police impounded a truck smuggling 123 sacks of banned pan masala on Wednesday night. Nuh has seen a spurt in smuggling of pan masala and gutka post ban by the state government. The police also nabbed the truck driver.
A joint team of the police and the Food and Supply Department conducted a raid near new vegetable market on Wednesday night and nabbed one person with a truck. The truck was carrying banned pan masala and gutka. According to Food Security Officer Dr Deepak Chaudhary, 123 sacks with market value of around Rs 3 lakh had been recovered. An FIR was registered against truck driver Punit and truck owner Shyam Sunder of Sohna.
