The 127th meeting of the Academic Council of Kurukshetra University was held under the chairmanship of Kurukshetra University Vice-Chancellor Prof Som Nath Sachdeva in hybrid mode on Tuesday.
During the meeting, 28 crucial academic issues were presented by KU Registrar Dr Virender Pal and the minutes of the meeting held on June 26 last year were approved by the council.
At the meeting it was recommended to start a PG diploma in archives and records management under self-finance scheme in the department of history from the session 2024-25. The MoUs made with various academic and industrial organisations with Kurukshetra University were also recommended, which includes MoUs made jointly with Meerkets Innovation Technotools Private Limited, Gurugram, Kumaun University Nainital, Swadeshi Research Institute, New Delhi, ISKCON and Kurukshetra Development Board. The recent agreements made among the KU and Higher Smart Solution Private Limited, New Delhi, and Gurugram University were approved by the academic council.
As per the KU spokesman, the academic council discussed the planning and curriculum of the UG online programme in line with the regular programmes going on at the Institute of Integrated Honours Studies (IIHS). The report of the inspection committee regarding starting various courses in various educational institutions was presented.
The meeting also approved the recommendations of the committee regarding formulation of guidelines for plantation of trees by students pursuing certificate/diploma/degree under the UG/PG programme.
