Thirteen girl students were hospitalised on Monday after allegedly having ‘daliya’ for breakfast at a government school in Jalmana village of Samalkha.
The incident took place at Kasturba Gandhi Government Girls' School. According to information, during the morning assembly, some students started complaining of severe stomachache and headache and some began to vomit.
The school administration immediately admitted them to the Community Health Centre (CHC) at Bapoli.
After first aid, all students were referred to the Civil Hospital in Panipat, and all have been admitted to the special ward. The students belonged to classes VI and VII.
The school warden said all students had been admitted to the hospital. The students were living in the school hostel.
Dr Vijay Malik, Civil Surgeon, said 13 students were admitted to the hospital and were stable.
Meanwhile, the Food Safety Officer collected samples of ‘daliya’, and the water samples will be collected tomorrow.
