132 beneficiaries in Sirsa get first instalment under PM Awas Yojana
Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Thursday released Rs 150 crore as the first instalment to beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin) through video conferencing from Chandigarh. Among them, 132 beneficiaries from Sirsa district also received the funds. The event was held at the local Mini-Secretariat, where Deputy Commissioner Shantanu Sharma and other officials were present.
Deputy Commissioner Shantanu Sharma stated that the scheme aimed at providing safe and permanent housing to needy families, improving their living standards and securing their future. He instructed officials to ensure smooth and transparent implementation so that no eligible person was left out. He also stressed the importance of guiding beneficiaries regularly so they could fully benefit from the scheme. The district administration will monitor progress closely to address any delays or issues.
District Council CEO Dr. Subhash Chandra informed that 132 beneficiaries received their first instalment, while 56 others had already benefited earlier. Additionally, the funds have been sanctioned for 2,722 more beneficiaries. He assured that efforts would continue to ensure timely assistance to all deserving families.
