At least 14 vehicles, including three cars and two-wheelers, were destroyed in a fire at MC Colony here today. The incident came to light when loud explosions were heard early morning prompting residents to rush out and attempt to extinguish the flames.

All vehicles were parked outside a residential building. Among the burnt cars were an i20, a Swift and a Venue. According to information, the incident took place around 4.45 am outside Silver Apartment, located in MC Colony. The fire started in a scooter and quickly spread to nearby vehicles, causing tires to explode and waking people residing nearby, said residents.

Later, fire tenders rushed to the spot and doused the flames. Hisar police investigation officer Kapil, who arrived at the spot, said two Bullet motorcycles, three scooters, five to six other bikes and cars were destroyed in the fire. The exact cause of the fire was being investigated, he said. The footage of the CCTV cameras installed in the area was being reviewed to determine exact cause of the mishap, he said.
