1,461 students appear for Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya’s entrance examination
Entrance examination for admission in Class VI of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya was conducted at 11 examination centres in seven blocks of Yamunanagar district today.
As many as 2,693 students were to appear for the examination at all the entrance examination centres of the district, out of which only 1,461 were present and 1,232 were absent.
Jagadhri Block Education Officer KS Sandhawa said that the entrance of Navodaya Vidyalaya was conducted peacefully at all the centres of the district.
“I have also visited all the examination centres of Jagadhri block. No problem or complaint of any kind has been reported from any centre,” said Sandhawa.
He said that two observers were also appointed by Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti at each centre. He added that the Block Education Officer was also the nodal officer of his block.
“The students who will pass this entrance examination will be admitted in Class XI in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Chuharpur Kalan, situated in block Chhachhrauli of Yamunanagar district,” he said.
He added that all the students, who secure admission would receive free residential education in the school till Class XII.
Sandhawa said that it was a commendable and revolutionary scheme of the Central Government to promote education in rural areas. “Due to these schools, talented students in rural areas are getting a golden opportunity of receiving good education,” he said.
