Jawan Lance Naik Nishan Singh, who was killed yesterday after a joint team of security forces came under fire from militants during an operation near village Watnar in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, was paid homage on Sunday.

Lance Naik Nishan Singh paid homage in a solemn ceremony held at BB Cantt.

Lieutenant General DP Pandey, 15 Corps Commander, paid his tribute in a solemn ceremony held at BB Cantt.

The deceased belonged to village Bhaudin in district Sirsa, Haryana and is survived by his wife.

The mortal remains of the jawan will be taken for last rites to his native place, where he would be laid to rest with complete military honours.
