15-ft wide road to be built along elevated rail track
A 15-ft wide road will be constructed on both sides of the country’s first rail elevated track in Rohtak city.
Deputy Commissioner Dhirendra Khadgata along with officials on Wednesday conducted a spot inspection of the road and observed the work being done by the departments on both sides of the elevated railway track from the local Bajrang Bhawan to double-level crossing.
He gave strict instructions to the officials of the departments concerned stating that they should complete the assigned work as soon as possible and send the action-taken report along with photos. He also got the land measured by the officials on the spot.
The DC said the decision to construct the road was taken with a view to provide road facilities to the residents along with the railway elevated track in the city. The road would be constructed by the Public Works Department and Municipal Corporation, he added.
Khadgata directed the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN) officials to immediately remove the electric transformers and poles from the route of the proposed road so that the construction work of the road could be started on time. While giving instructions to the officials of the Municipal Corporation, he said the stray cows should be caught and sent to the cow shelters immediately. The DC also asked them to challan those operating dairy in an unauthorised way near the elevated railway track.
Khadgata gave instructed the officials concerned and said they should immediately hold talks with the owners of residential and commercial buildings coming in the way of the road being built along the elevated railway track, fix the compensation amount and complete the road construction work. On the occasion, Rohtak Subdivisional Magistrate Ashish Kumar, Municipal Corporation Joint Commissioner Bhupendra Singh, Executive Engineer Mandeep Dhankhar, UHBVN Executive Engineer Ramendra Malik and Tehsildar Rajesh Kumar were among those officials present on the occasion.
