15 passengers injured as bus overturns in Bhiwani

As many as 15 passengers were injured when a bus of the Haryana Roadways they were travelling in, overturned in the Bawani Khera area of the district, on Wednesday. Three of them have been referred to the PGIMS, Rohtak, following their critical condition.

The reason behind the mishap is yet to be ascertained while the police have started investigation. No case was registered till the filing of the news report.

The accident took place when the bus was going to Hansi from Bhiwani via Bawani Khera. As it crossed Bawani Khera town, the bus overturned on the road leaving 15 passengers injured. They were rushed to hospitals at Bawani Khara and Bhiwani.

Sangeeta, a passenger undergoing treatment at Bhiwani hospital, told mediapersons that the bus overturned due to overspeeding while another passenger said the accident took place while overtaking a tractor.

“We rushed to the spot on getting information. The injured were taken to government hospitals in Bhiwani and other places. Three of the injured have been referred to the PGIMS due their critical condition. The investigation is under way to ascertain the cause of the mishap,” said Satish Kumar, investigation officer.
