The PGIMS administration on Friday organised a tuberculosis (TB) screening and awareness camp at the Ch Ranbir Singh OPD Block as part of the ongoing ‘Seva Pakhwada’ campaign. The camp witnessed the participation of around 150 patients, who underwent comprehensive check-ups and were provided with free diagnostic tests for TB.
Speaking at the camp as chief guest, Dr HK Aggarwal, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Health Sciences (UHS), emphasised the national goal of eliminating TB. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has envisioned a TB-free India. Every state and district has a role to play in achieving that. This camp is a step in that direction,” he said.
Aggarwal stressed the importance of women prioritising their health stating that “women care for entire families but often neglect their own health.”
