17% yet to get 2nd dose of Covid vax in Karnal

Karnal, July 27

The hesitation to get vaccinated for Covid still prevails among Karnal residents as around 17 per cent of the population in the district above 18 years of age is yet to receive second dose.

The district got the tag of cent per cent vaccination for the first dose in January 2022 for this age group. Six months have gone by, but around two lakh people have not got the second dose.

According to the data available with the Health Department, so far, only 1.31 per cent of the opulation in the age group 18 to 44, 3.36 per cent in the age 45 to 60, 11.93 per cent in the age group above 60, 29.18 per cent health workers and 15.79 per cent frontline workers have for the precautionary dose.
