1,731 beneficiaries to get plots to build houses in Yamunanagar-Jagadhri

Under the Chief Minister Urban Housing Scheme, as many as 1,731 people/beneficiaries will be given plots in Sector-23 falling under the area of Municipal Corporation, Yamunanagar-Jagadhri (MCYJ). These beneficiaries will also be given the benefit of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban). Teams of the MCYJ have started the survey for this work.

“The Aadhaar cards of these beneficiaries are being verified by the MCYJ. After verification, permanent houses will be built on their plots by the beneficiaries with funding being provided under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban),” said Municipal Commissioner Ayush Sinha. He said that every citizen should have his own permanent house.

He further said that this was the dream of the central and state governments and to realise this dream, the government had started Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) and Chief Minister Urban Housing Scheme.

He added that under the Chief Minister Urban Housing Scheme, the government had sought online applications to give plots and flats to the BPL families of urban areas who did not have their own houses.

He said that registrations were started on September 13, 2023 by the Haryana Government on the ‘Housing for All’ portal.

He further said that by the last date (December 2024), 10,903 people of Municipal Corporation Yamunanagar-Jagadhari area had registered to get plots under the scheme.

“After this, the government started bookings to give plots to these beneficiaries. Till February 15, 2024, as many as 3,139 beneficiaries had booked plots on the portal of ‘Housing for All’. The constituted committee allotted plots to these beneficiaries through a draw in December 2024. Provisional allotment letters were given to beneficiaries by organising a programme in the new grain market, Jagadhri, and plots are to be given to 1,731 beneficiaries in Sector 23,” said Municipal Commissioner Ayush Sinha.

He said that now these beneficiaries would also be given the benefit of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Under this scheme, these beneficiaries will be given Rs 2.5 lakh in three instalments to build a permanent house on the plot. “For this, the beneficiaries are being surveyed by the Municipal Corporation. The Aadhaar card of each beneficiary is being verified,” said Ayush Sinha.
