Here is some good news for those government employees who are posted in Narnaul and residing in rented accommodations there. The long-awaited allotment of official accommodation is finally set to begin. The district administration has initiated the process to allocate 110 government houses that were constructed on the mini-secretariat campus in Narnaul over 2.5 years ago.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Vivek Bharti has formed a committee, headed by the Additional Deputy Commissioner, to carry out the allotment process. The committee has already begun the necessary work to ensure that the houses are allocated as soon as possible.

Sources said the state government had announced the construction of these houses in 2015 with an aim to provide official accommodation for government employees posted in Narnaul, decreasing their dependence on rented housing. Following this, a survey was conducted, leading to the decision to build 110 houses on the mini-secretariat campus.

“A tender was issued for the construction of the houses, with the project costing around Rs 24 crore. The construction was completed in 2022 but the allotment was delayed due to the absence of external connections for sewer lines and potable water. This issue was recently resolved, clearing the way for the allotment of the government houses,” said a source.

"At present, government employees are residing in official accommodations in three localities in Narnaul. However, these houses are insufficient, given the number of employees posted in the city. As a result, many employees have been living in rented accommodations, eagerly awaiting the availability of new homes on the mini-secretariat premises," said an official.

DC Vivek Bharti confirmed to ‘The Tribune’ that the allotment process for the new houses was under way and would be completed soon. When asked about the delay in the allotment, he attributed it to coordination issues between various government departments.
