In the last two days, the Anti Narcotics Cell (Yamunanagar) recovered 2.86 lakh prescription drug tablets and capsules (alprazolam tablets and tramadol capsules) in two separate incidents. Authorities arrested two persons in connection to the drug recoveries.
Additional Superintendent of Police Himadri Kaushik said, based on a tip-off, a team of the Anti Narcotics Cell raided a house in Bank Colony here. The team arrested Naharpur village resident Himanshu Garg, alias Ankush, and recovered 1,50,800 tablets and capsules from his possession. Today, the suspect was produced before a Jagadhri court and remanded in two-day police custody, according to Anti Narcotics Cell In-charge Balraj Singh.
In a separate incident, a team of the cell arrested Divesh Kashyap of Panjupur village and recovered 1,35,300 tablets of prescription medication from his possession on Monday.
On the basis of a tip-off, the team raided a room on Khajuri road and recovered 1,35,300 tablets of prescription medication. The suspect was produced before a Jagadhri court and remanded in two-day police custody on Monday, according to Singh.
2 arrested in Karnal
Karnal: The Karnal unit of the Haryana State Narcotics Control Bureau (HSNCB) on Sunday night arrested two persons, identified as UP resident Raqib and Yamunanagar resident Prashant Garg, and seized 1, 17, 120 capsules and 2, 17,800 tablets from their possession.
On Monday, the duo was produced before a court and remanded in two-day police custody. Both the suspects were charged under relevant sections of the NDPS Act.
