2 die in Hisar mishap due to low visibility
Two persons were killed and four other suffered injuries in a road mishap involving two cars and a truck near Surewala chowk in Uklana town on the Hisar-Chandigarh National Highway today.
The accident occurred due to dense fog as a car going towards Chandigarh collided with the divider of the road and overturned due to poor visibility. Shortly after, another vehicle coming from behind crashed into the overturned car.
In a tragic turn of events, another mishap took place when a group of nearly 20 persons were trying to help the accident victims. A truck coming from Chandigarh side plowed into the crowd, running over some persons before overturning. The accident resulted in two fatalities on the spot and left many others injured- four of them in a serious condition.
The deceased have been identified as Anoop Garg (45) from Thanesar, Kurukshetra, who was inside the first car, and Suresh (35) from Jajanwala village in Jind, who had stopped by to help accident victims. Among the injured, four persons are in critical condition and were rushed to hospitals in Barwala and Hisar for treatment. ASI Vikram Singh said that dense fog had led to the mishap.
