Two managers of Hafed posted in Ambala have been suspended with immediate effect for alleged negligence in the procurement of sunflower seeds at the Ambala City grain market.
Action has been taken against Ritu Bala and Vijay Dhillon.
Deputy Commissioner Ajay Singh Tomer today said that registration of an FIR had also been recommended against all people involved in the matter.
As per information, a stock of sunflower seeds packed in gunny bags was found in the grain market, but the market committee secretary and District Manager (Hafed) claimed to have no information about it. No gate pass was issued for the stock that arrived in a truck at the market.
Members of the Bhartiya Kisan Union (Shaheed Bhagat Singh) had sought an inquiry into it.
Following the complaint, the DC formed a committee led by SDM Ambala City to conduct a probe. After the committee submitted its report, both the managers were suspended.
SDM Darshan Kumar said, “An inquiry was conducted and the negligence of the officials have come to light. The record of commission agents will be checked and the sales and the registration of farmers on the portal will be verified. An FIR has also been recommended in this matter as the involvement of some more people has also come to light."
