The assailants fled the spot and the family informed the police. The injured were rushed to hospital. The police said a dispute had taken place some days ago between the father of the victims and the accused. He had filed a complaint with the police. However, he was being pressured by the accused to withdraw the complaint. When he refused to do so, they fired at the girls, the police claimed.

The victims have been identified as Tarannum and Jasmine, daughters of Naushad. Their grandfather, Noor Hasan, said he woke up hearing the gunshots and found the girls bleeding and lying on the floor. The police have registered a case.
