Kurukshetra police arrest 4 miscreants

Those arrested were identified as Rohit Prasad, Mithun Sharma, Jayant and Sagar Sharma, all residents of Uttar Pradesh. Rohit and Mithun were engaged in a brief exchange of fire on Sunday night and admitted to a local hospital after they suffered bullet injuries. They were arrested after they got discharged from the hospital. The other two, Jayant and Sagar, were arrested during the investigation of the case.
A police spokesman said on September 7, the CIA-1 unit had received a tip-off that two miscreants carrying weapons on a two-wheeler were present near Bishangarh road and that they might execute some crime. Following the information, the team of CIA-1 unit started a search. On spotting the suspects, the team signalled to hem to stop, but the miscreants opened fire at the police party. In the exchange of fire, both the miscreants suffered bullet injuries and they were rushed to LNJP District Civil Hospital.
The police had recovered two country-made pistols, four live cartridges and a two-wheeler from their possession. A case was registered against the injured miscreants at Sadar Thanesar police station.
CIA-1 in-charge Surender Kumar said after the miscreants were arrested after they were discharged from the hospital. On the basis of their disclosure, Jayant and Sagar Sharma were also arrested. Mithun is a history sheeter and Rohit also has cases of attempt to murder and other crimes against him. The details about the other miscreants and their purpose behind coming to Kurukshetra will be ascertained during further investigation.
