The team of STF, Bahadurgarh, nabbed two shooters of the Rohit Godara gang after a brief encounter in Sector 10 area in Gurugram. The miscreants — Nitin and Yashpal — were injured and admitted to a hospital.

The action was taken after the attack on Inspector Anil Chillar in Rewari. Both the miscreants were involved in the attack on the inspector on Wednesday. Police have recovered two illegal pistols and nine bullet shells from the spot. An FIR was registered against the accused at Sector 10 A police station.

According to the police, Inspector Rakesh Kumar, in-charge of STF Bahadurgarh in district Jhajjar, received information through reliable sources that the two accused, who had fired at STF Palwal team were present near Garhi Harsaru road. The team, led by inspector Rakesh Kumar, conducted a raid at around 3am on Thursday on Garhi-Harsaru road. The police found two men there. They tried to escape and started firing at the police team.

The spokesperson of Gurugram police said that in retaliation, the STF team fired two shots at them, which hit their legs and both were injured. The arrested accused were identified as Yashpal (23) and Nitin (28) — both residents of Aulant village in Rewari district. The police team admitted both the accused to the Government Hospital, Sector 10, Gurugram, for treatment.

“The arrested accused were planning to commit a major crime. They were involved in the attack on the STF Palwal team in Rewari. Seven cases were registered against the accused Nitin in Rewari and Gurugram. Two cases were registered against Yashpal in Rewari and Gurugram,” said the spokesperson of Gurugram police.
