2 teen boys murdered in Kaithal’s Barta village

In a shocking incident, bodies of two teenage boys were found near a drain at Barta village in Kaithal district on Monday. The victims have been identified as Arman (16) and Prince (14) — both residents of the same village.

“The preliminary investigation revealed that the boys were killed by a group of 10 teenagers after one of the victims made a comment about the sister of one of the accused. We are probing all angles,” said Astha Modi, Superintendent of Police (SP), Kaithal.

The police said the bodies bore multiple injury marks caused by sharp-edged weapons, pointing to a brutal assault. The boys had left their homes around 5 pm on Sunday and never returned.

Local villagers found the bodies early morning on Monday while working in nearby fields and immediately alerted the police. SP Modi, along with DSP (Headquarters), SHO, forensic experts, and other police officials, reached the spot and launched an investigation. Forensic teams collected evidence from the scene.

SHO Sadar, Sub-Inspector Mukesh Kumar, confirmed the police had identified the deceased. He added: “The victims were attacked with sharp-edged weapons. We have recorded statements of their families. The bodies have been handed over to the relatives after post-mortem, which have been cremated.”

A case has been registered under Sections 190, 191 (3), 103, 61 (2), and Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, and police teams are actively pursuing leads to apprehend the suspects. The officials said all possible angles were being explored to bring those responsible to justice.
