A team of the anti-vehicle theft cell of the Yamunanagar police has arrested two persons and recovered four stolen motorcycles from their possession. The accused have been identified as Ankush of Shiv Colony and Sumit Kumar, alias Pepsi, of Bank Colony in Yamunanagar.

Chamkaur Singh, a police spokesman, said on Friday, the accused were produced before a court, which sent them to judicial custody.

Rajesh Kumar, in-charge of the anti-vehicle theft cell, said they got information that two persons would go towards Uttar Pradesh via Kalanaur village with a stolen motorcycle.

He said that after getting the information, a team was formed which caught both persons with the stolen motorcycle.

Rain leads to road mishap, man killed

Hisar: A 75-year-old man was killed in a collision between a roadways bus and a pick-up van in Hisar district on Friday.

The deceased has been identified as Ramdhari of Bhaini Jatan village. The pick-up van, which was coming from Uttar Pradesh, fell into a pit along the roadside after allegedly being hit by the bus.The driver of the pick-up van was also injured in the accident. The mishap was reportedly caused due reduced visibility due to heavy rain. The police has registered a case and sent the body for a post-mortem examination.

Property dealer shot near Hansi

Hisar: Jaideep, a local property dealer, was shot near Hansi town in the district on Thursday.

According to police, Jaideep was travelling to Hansi with two friends when the incident occurred. The trio was near Sainipura village when a group of motorcycle-borne youths intercepted their vehicle and opened fire.

Jaideep sustained a bullet injury while his friends managed to escape unhurt.

He has been admitted to a hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the attack.
