2 years on, Hansi primary students yet to get own school building
Students of a government primary school in Hansi town are a harassed lot as they have been studying on the campus of a private school for the past two years. The administration has failed to construct the school building even after the passage of two years.
The private aided school which has accommodated the students all this while has now expressed its inability to accommodate the government school students any further due to paucity of space.
Though the authorities want the private aided school to continue to arrangement, the school management has said they already have a strength of about 400 students, which is difficult to adjust in a limited space.
Shakuntala, the in-charge of the government primary school, said they had been managing all 126 students of five classes in just two rooms of the private aided schools. “We also operate our office, cook midday meals and other work from these two rooms only. Besides, there is a shortage of toilets in the current school,” she said.
The Education Department official said a fund of Rs 59.83 lakh had been allocated for the school’s construction, but the amount had not been released, which prevented contractors from starting the work. The official said that they would expedite the process for early construction of the school building.
