Gurugram, January 29
A 21-year-old man was stabbed to death when a row erupted between two groups of friends allegedly over a girl in Gurugram on Sunday.
Three accused were arrested on Monday, the police said, adding the incident took place at Hari Nagar on Delhi-Jaipur highway. Deceased Aakash, a native of Begusarai in Bihar, used to live with his cousin Suraj at Naharpur Rupa village.
He was taking coaching for competitive exams. According to a complaint filed by Suraj at Sector 37 police station, Aakash was schoolmate of Pratham, Gaurav Tiwari, Krishankant alias Krishna, and two other girls. At that time, Gaurav had developed a relationship with one of the girls.
Around 6 months ago they ended the relationship. Soon, Krishna developed a relationship with the girl, triggering a discord between him and Gaurav.
“Around 6:00pm on Sunday, Krishna called on Pratham’s mobile and asked him to meet. They agreed to meet at a subway in Hari Nagar. Pratham along with Aakash, Gaurav, Saurav and Sonsil reached there, while Krishna reached the spot with 10 of his friends.
“As soon as they reached, Krishna and his friends attacked Pratham and his friends. Krishna and his friends also pelted stones on us and we got injured. In the meantime, two of Krishna’s friends overpowered Aakash and Krishan stabbed him with a knife. We rushed Aakash to a hospital where doctors declared him dead,” Suraj said in his complaint.
Probationary sub-inspector Yogesh Kumar, the investigating officer, said: “We handed over the body to kin after the postmortem today.”
The arrested accused were identified as Krishna, Sachin of Udiya Khera village and another Sachin of Rewari.
The police officer said the accused will be presented in a city court on Tuesday.
