The victim’s family and villagers had blocked traffic on the Sonepat-Purkhas road this morning. However, the police pacified them and removed the blockade.

As per information, Aditya left for work on December 10. The same day, his family received a message and a video from his mobile number, in which the kidnappers demanded a ransom of Rs 25 lakh.

The video message showed him tied with ropes and bleeding from the head. Sompal, Aditya’s father, in a statement to the police said his son worked as an electrician in the FCI godown at Kalupur Chungi in Sonepat.

The kidnappers also threatened that when the police would search for Aditya, they would not find him alive. The family informed the police about the messages.

Enraged over police inaction, the villagers and Aditya’s family blocked traffic on Friday morning. Following the blockade, Gannaur ACP Rishikant, along with Barhi SHO, reached the spot and pacified the protesters and assured them that an investigation would be conducted.

In the afternoon, the police received information that a body had been found in the Munak canal.

The body was identified as that of Aditya. His hands were tied, and the body bore serious injury marks.

The Delhi Police handed over the body to the family after a postmortem examination, which was conducted at a hospital in Delhi in the evening.

The family, however, refused to cremate the body, after which the police again pacified them. He was cremated in late evening.

DCP (Crime) Narender Kadyan said a case had been registered. Following the directions of the Commissioner of Police, an SIT had been formed, he added.
