22-year-old student gangraped in Faridabad
An animation graphics student was allegedly gangraped by two youths in Ballabhgarh area of Faridabad. It is alleged that the accused hypnotised her and committed the crime by scaring her. An FIR was registered on Wednesday.
According to the complaint filed by the 22-year-old student, on April 15, at around 10 am, she and a friend were standing near the Ballabhgarh bus stand when a man approached them. He asked for directions first to Sheetla Mata Mandir and then to Hanuman Mandir. Both of them expressed ignorance. After that, another man arrived at the spot.
One of them set a paper on fire and put a marigold flower and a peepal leaf in their hands, saying that they had to throw it in the river, otherwise they will die. They walked till a college, where the victim's friend was intimidated and sent back to the bus stand to place the flowers there. Their mobile phones were also snatched by the accused.
“They took me in an auto to a dirty drain area near the Agra canal. They asked me to place flowers, stones and leaves near the root of a peepal tree, otherwise they would kill me and my friend. They then took me to a deserted place and raped me," the victim claimed in her complaint.
During this time, the accused received a call. While they were listening to the call, she ran away and approached the police, she stated.
After receiving the complaint, the victim was medically examined at the Civil Hospital, Faridabad, which confirmed rape.
A senior police officer said the crime scene was inspected by the forensic team, and CCTV footage of the routes mentioned in the complaint was obtained. Raids were being conducted to nab the accused.
