The Ambala police issued challans to over 350 drivers and also registered 23 cases during a special drive against lane indiscipline from December 12 to 18.
Following the direction of Director-General of Police Shatrujeet Kapur, the campaign was launched.
Ambala SP Surinder Singh Bhoria said, “A special drive was launched from December 12 against the lane indiscipline and during the drive 23 cases have been registered and 350 challans issued so far. The drivers are requested to maintain their lanes as driving in wrong lane and frequent changing of lanes are a cause of accident. In view of the foggy conditions, the drivers must observe extra caution.”
“To ensure road safety and reduce the number of accidents, efforts are being made for strict compliance of traffic norms. The drivers are being motivated to follow traffic rules else action will be taken. More such campaigns will be run in the coming days and challaning will be further increased. The SHOs have also been told to increase patrolling in their respective areas and ensure that the traffic norms are strictly followed to reduce the number of accidents”, he added.
