A 26-year-old woman was allegedly gangraped by three persons in a moving truck, after she was kidnapped by the accused from Kamani Chowk of Yamunanagar.
On the complaint of the woman, belonging to a colony of Yamunanagar, a case was registered against unknown persons under Sections 115, 140 (3) and 70 (1) of BNS at Women Police Station on January 7.
The victim told the police that she was standing at the chowk at 9 am on January 6 and waiting for her father. She said a truck was already parked there and she was suddenly pulled by three men inside the truck. They then started the truck and drove it towards the Industrial Area.
“There were three persons, including the driver, inside the truck and they all raped me,” she told the police, adding that the accused hit her on the head with a rod.
Later, they dropped her near the railway station.
“When the men pulled me inside the truck, a person known to me, Vineet, who was also standing at the chowk, witnessed the incident and tried to save me, but couldn’t do so,” she said.
She told the police that she had clicked a photo of the number plate of the truck.
Baljeet Kaur, SHO, said the matter was being investigated.
