Chandigarh, April 9
School Education Minister Kanwar Pal Gujjar said the zero dropout policy was being worked out in the state to connect every child with the mainstream through education. He said there would be no dropout in the state by next year. For this, about 48 lakh children in the age group of 6 to 18 are being tracked to know the status of their education.

The Education Minister informed the new National Education Policy (NEP) would be implemented in the state by 2025. He informed that under the Pradhan Mantri School for Rising India (PM-Shri) scheme launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, 270 PM SHRI schools would be opened in 135 blocks of the state by the next year. He said the NEP had been prepared to impart education among children by imbibing values in them.
“The target is to implement it across the country by 2030, but Haryana is moving forward with the vision of implementing it by 2025,” he said.
Gujjar said for the first time in the country, five and a half lakh tablets were distributed among the students of Classes X to XII to connect the children of government schools with technology.
