On Monday, the body Inderpal (28) was found on the premises of Government Primary School in Chautala village of Sirsa district. Inderpal, a father of two, had been struggling with addiction for a long time. Authorities suspect that his death may have been caused by an overdose of drugs. The police have taken possession of the body and sent it for postmortem at the Civil Hospital.
The incident came to light when a sanitation worker arrived at the school for cleaning duties and saw the body. Both school staff and the police were immediately informed. The police identified the deceased and sent the body for further investigation.
Inderpal was one of three brothers and his elder brother had also died due to drug addiction. His father worked as a peon at the local veterinary hospital, and after his father’s death, his mother continued to work there.
According to Brahm Prakash, SHO, Sadar police station, Inderpal’s death was caused due to a heart attack. However, it was revealed that he had been undergoing treatment for his addiction.
The death has brought attention to the ongoing drug-related issues in the village. Residents have expressed their concerns, accusing the authorities of failing to take action against the widespread sale of drugs in the area.
