3 booked for conversion

Gurugram, August 23

The Nuh police have busted a racket of alleged illegal conversions in return for money. Cops nabbed the key accused, identified as Abu Bakar, while three other persons have been booked.

According to a complaint filed by Barota village resident Manoj, in April 2020, Salamba village resident Abu Bakar, master Sohrab, Maulana Dilshad, Mubin and their associates had converted him by promising him money and job.

“They gave me some cash, but later asked to collect money and grain from the Mewat area. They forced me to eat beef. They operated two NGOs-Dawat-e-Islam and Global Peace Centre. It was after a year in April 2021 that I fled from their clutches, but they threatened to kill me,” Manoj told the police. —OC
