3 boys drown in pond in Panipat, one in waterlogged pit in Gurugram

Three teenagers drowned in a pond in Garh Sarnai village of the district today.
The deceased have been identified as Abhishek (14), Hitesh (14) and Navin (16), all residents of Garh Sarnai village.
As per the villagers, the three boys had gone to take a bath after school hours. Other kids were in the pool as well, but the trio had swum towards the deep end of the pond and drowned.
They were taken out by villagers and rushed to a hospital, but were declared brought dead by doctors.
Meanwhile, a nine-year-old boy died after drowning in a pit filled with rainwater on the side of the under-construction Dwarka Expressway in Gurugram.
A joint team of the Police and Fire Department reached the spot and took out the body after three hours of operation.
The boy identified as Rishabh was a native of Aligarh in Uttar Pradesh. He was residing in the Rajendra Park area with his parents.
He had gone to take a bath in the pit with his two friends on Monday evening, but drowned. His friends returned home but did not tell anyone about Rishabh due to fear.
Rishabh’s parents filed a missing person report after searched a day.
They found his clothes near the pit this morning.
The father of the deceased said his son left home while he and his wife were on their respective jobs.
