3 children among 4 dead in Bahadurgarh house blast
An explosion at a house in Bahadurgarh town here on Saturday evening claimed the lives three children and a woman of a family.
The family head and the woman’s husband, Harpal Singh, sustained serious injuries in the blast. He has been admitted to the PGIMS, Rohtak, where his condition remains critical.
Sources said the explosion might have been caused by the damage to the internal unit of an air conditioner. However, the police said a team of technical experts is conducting a thorough investigation to determine the exact cause of the blast.
Bahadurgarh DCP Mayank Mishra informed that Harpal, a transporter from Delhi, had been living in the rented accommodation with his family for around a year. His wife and three children died in the blast.
“A team of forensic experts is at the spot to determine the cause of the blast and the exact location where it occurred,” said the DCP.
The incident came to light when residents heard the explosion and quickly alerted the authorities. Eyewitness Prashant Kumar recounted hearing two explosions, prompting him and other neighbours to rush to the house.
“We found flames engulfing the property and managed to break open the gate to rescue a middle-aged man. Later, we informed the fire and police officials after seeing the fire engulfed the house following an explosion in the air conditioner,” he added.
