3 cops misbehave with minor girl, father at Yamunanagar police station, suspended

Three policemen allegedly misbehaved with a minor girl and her father at a police station of Yamunanagar.

The incident reportedly took place when the girl, along with her father, had gone to Farakpur police station of Yamunanagar to lodge a complaint against a youth named Kailash.

Kailash had allegedly molested the girl after entering her house and also beat her up.

As per the complaint of the girl’s father, his daughter was alone at their house on June 10. Kailash came to the house during the day, molested his daughter and beat her also.

When the girl and her father went to Farakpur police station to lodge a complaint, two Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASI) and one head constable allegedly asked them to change the content of the complaint.

But when the victim and her father refused to do so, those policemen reportedly misbehaved with them.

Later, the girl and her father met Superintendent of Police Surinder Singh Bhoria and informed him about the misbehaviour meted out to them and about their complaint.

Bhoria took swift action and suspended the three policemen, all posted at Farakpur police station. “The matter is being probed to ascertain the truth,” said SP Bhoria.

The police arrested Kailash after the registration of a case against him under Sections of the POCSO Act.

He was produced before a district court in Jagadhri yesterday and the court sent him to judicial custody.
