3 days on, Haryana IPS officer's family refuses cremation, wants DGP, Rohtak SP to proceed on leave
Says post-mortem and cremation would be held only after FIR is amended to include names of Shatrujeet Kappor and Narender Bijarniya as accused
Three days after 2001-batch IPS officer Y Puran Kumar shot himself at his Sector 11 residence, the family of the deceased officer said the post-mortem and cremation would be held only after the FIR is amended to include the names of DGP Shatrujeet Kappor and SP, Rohtak, Narender Bijarniya, as the accused and the sections applied are changed to reflect the crime committed.
"Further, these two officers must be asked to proceed on leave in keeping with the commitment given by the Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini. He had assured the family yesterday that a decision to send the two officers would be taken by 5 pm. However, nothing has happened. The arrests can take place subsequently, but the bare minimum should be done without delay," a family member stated.

According to information, Haryana Minister Krishan Lal Panwar visited the family to urge them to give a go-ahead for the cremation. "We have conveyed to the government through him that the two officers have to be sent on leave first," a family member maintained, adding that the government knows exactly what it needs to do to support the family in this tragedy. Meanwhile, the IAS Association will hold a condolence meeting this evening. Sources said that the Chief Secretary, Anurag Rastogi, as the Head of the services, had conveyed that a meeting.
