3 die as car falls into drain in Faridabad

Three persons died due to drowning after their car fell into the Gauchi drain near the fish market in Faridabad on Thursday night.

According to the police, the incident took place around 10:40 pm when the car was going from the fish market towards Sanjay Colony. The driver lost control over the car which fell into the drain.

Some bystanders raised an alarm after which many others from Sanjay Colony and nearby areas reached the spot.

A police team reached the spot and a rescue operation started within minutes.

After an hour of rescue efforts, people managed to take them out with the help of ropes and rush them to Badshah Khan Hospital but doctors declared them dead.

The bodies were sent to the mortuary for a postmortem examination. The deceased have been identified as Pawan Maurya, Amit Jha and Gaurav Rawat, all of whom were around 40 years old.

“According to the RC of the car, the car was in the name of Amit Jha, resident of Sanjay Enclave, Sector 22, Faridabad. We informed the family and are investigating all angles,” said inspector Samer Singh, SHO of Mujesar police station.
