3 die of drug overdose in Hisar village in a fortnight

The drug overdose has claimed three lives in Pabra village of Hisar district in about a fortnight. Sonu (20), Vinod (30), and Charan Das (22) were drug addicts who lost their lives in separate incidents.

Dilbag Singh, a family member of one of the victims, said Sonu died on October 29 at home. Sonu was a drug addict and injected himself with intoxicants which resulted in an overdose. He was taken to hospital but died later. Another youth, Vinod, was the bread earner of the family. He was addicted to drugs for the past two years and succumbed to the addiction on November 5. Another youth, Charan Das, died on November 8 due to drug overdose.

Uklana’s Congress MLA Naresh Selwal met the bereaved families, expressing condolences and concern. He vowed to address the issue in the Haryana Assembly session to seek strict action against drug peddlers and financial assistance for affected families.
