3 Haryanvis make it to Delhi Assembly, 5 lose poll

Three leaders who had shifted to Delhi but originally belongs to Haryana have made it to the Delhi Assembly while five others including the former chief minister Arvind kejriwal have lost the polls.

There were eight leaders having family background in Haryana who were in the fray in the elections. These leaders apparently have shifted to Delhi some time ago and have joined politics.

Among the winners are BJP candidates Manjinder Singh Sirsa from Sirsa, who won the Rajouri Garden seat, Pawan Sharma from Narwana, who won from the Uttam Nagar segment, and AAP leader Virender Singh Kadian, who hails from Dubaldhan village in Jhajjar, has won the Delhi Cantonment seat.

However, Kejriwal, who belongs to Siwani in Bhiwani district, suffered a major setback as he lost to BJP’s Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma from the New Delhi segment. Besides, AAP's candidates Mahender Goyal who hails from Kaithal, Rakhi Birla, who belongs to Jhajjar, and Deepak Singla, who has family background in Uklana in Hisar district. Arjun Bhadana, son of former Congress MP Avatar Singh Bhadana from Faridabad, too lost the contest.
