3 killed in separate road mishaps; father, daughter electrocuted in Panipat
Three persons were killed in two separate accidents in Panipat on Holi on Friday, while a man and his daughter were electrocuted in the city on Saturday.
The police handed over the dead bodies of the deceased to their relatives after postmortem examination.
Kuldeep, of Meharana village, reported to the Madlauda police that his brother Anoop, along with Jagdeep, was riding a motorcycle on their way to Urlana village. Kuldeep, along with Ramsharan (Jagdeep’s brother-in-law), was on another motorcycle.
As they reached Adiana village road after crossing Madlauda, a speeding white car came from behind and hit Anoop’s motorcycle. Anoop and Jagdeep fell on the road. The car driver stopped the car briefly but then managed to flee the scene.
Both Jagdeep Singh (40) and Anoop Singh (38) died at the scene. Both worked as electricians in a spinning mill. The police registered a case and began an investigation.
On the other hand, a person was killed near the old mandi when an auto rickshaw hit him while he was crossing the road on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Chiman Lal of Amar Bhawan chowk. Naman, the deceased’s nephew, reported to the Quilla police that he and his uncle had gone to an old vegetable mandi on Sanoli road. His uncle was crossing the road when an auto driver, coming from Sanjay Chowk, hit him. Naman immediately took his uncle to the civil hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Following the complaint, the Quilla police registered a case against the auto driver and began an investigation.
In another tragic incident, a-47-year-old man and his 13-year-old daughter were electrocuted in Dinanath Colony. The deceased were identified as Vasiuddin and his daughter Neha.
According to available information, Vasiuddin was building his house in Dinanath Colony. He was carrying an iron ladder to the roof when it touched high-tension power lines running near his house, electrocuting him. Neha, upon seeing her father, tried to save him but was also electrocuted. People took them to the civil hospital where doctors declared them dead.
